Zone Fever means the UK is no longer a democracy that involves local residents.No mandate whatsoever to replace collective sovereignty (people power) with corporate sovereignty.

The Tories, and the Labour Party, along with the most malign and destructive corporations on the planet, have decided with no mandate whatsoever to replace collective sovereignty (people power) with corporate sovereignty. 

The MSM has decided long ago that the public does not need to be informed about the dangers of deregulated zoning, they are perceived as merely collateral damage as corporate governance eclipses the UK. Brexit had everything to do with deregulated zoning, which involves carving up England, Scotland, and Wales into feudal enclaves with separate laws and regulations from the host country. 

UK SEZs and Freeports sabotage rejoining the EU, when Cons and Labour say no rejoining the EU, State aid regulations are central to this refusal despite the majority of the public wanting to rejoin. Thatcher's free zones failed because of EU regulations on State aid, which is public money, the EU prohibits subsidizing companies in SEZs purely for profit without giving anything back to the regions they operate in, tax breaks for 10 years, and licenses set for 25 years by Jeremy Hunt. Starmer has just stated he fully backs the Tories free zones experiment and wants to go even further than the Tories. It is no coincidence that Labour's massive deregulation proposals were announced at their recent Investment Summit. 

Jacob Rees-Mogg's REUL Bill revoked 600 EU/UK laws on 31st Dec 2023, the 3 main areas were employment rights, food safety, and environmental protections with 1000s more for the chop by 2026, that same bill is now in Starmer's hands. 

The economic areas outside of these zones will eventually be forced to adopt the aggressive competitive practices of their corporate neighbours because their economies and public services will atrophy and become unsustainable.

There is something seriously wrong with political parties whose system of governance has allowed itself to be captured by corporations with atrocious track records on fraud, environmental pollution, land grabbing, private banking, bullying of unions and workers, SMEs, and multiple human rights abuses. 

Zone Fever arrived by stealth in the UK, it is insane that myself and a small handful of diligent researchers and activists are the only ones calling out the dangers of free zones. There is parallel between British colonized Hong Kong and Brexit UK. Hong Kong was a democracy - "it just happened to be not a democracy that involved the local residents”
